Please note Most diet books don’t get read. Since length is often associated with quality, these books are often padded. I made this book short and to the point, so you hopefully absorb it, use it and have success like I did.
This is not a book written for a person who has a couple of pounds to lose.
Just the opposite.
I’m kind of weary of seeing all these bestselling diets that are put out by people who never had to lose a lot of weight. If you’ve never been 50 pounds or more overweight, you really don’t know what it is like.
If you’ve never had a weight problem, you don’t know what it is like to be leptin and insulin resistant. You don’t know what it is like to overeat every day for years and hear people say, "Just eat less and exercise more."
Gee, thanks.
This is a book written for fat people that still want to
•Enjoy food
•Feel good
•Sleep well
•Think clearly
•Boost their immune system
While they lose weight!
Do you want to damage yourself in an attempt to get slim? Are you really willing to give up brain function and wellbeing to lose weight?
Not worth it.
Keep your muscle, keep your brain function, don’t lose sleep, don’t starve yourself, don’t lose your sanity; low carb works.
Again, this book is not meant to fill a page quota, so there is no fluff. It is meant to be simple and clear; no padding.
In the first chapter you will learn about the Low Carb Works simple guidelines.
Chapter 2 will deal with crucial immune system steps that you may want to take.
Even though you are low carb, you still need to focus on healthy, Chapter 3 covers that.
Possibly the world’s greatest health tonic is sleep, Chapter 4 gives you all my steps that will have you sleeping better than you have in years.
Chapter 5 is a simple method that will help you to feel better about life and your new diet.
Chapter 6 will show you 2 additional steps that you can take to end heartburn.
What diet would be worth its salt if it didn’t deal with those inevitable times where you just can’t get full and you know you’re about to go off the diet; Chapter 7 shows you how to never go hungry.
It’s not supposed to be hours of calculation; Chapter 8 shows you how to easily know what to eat at all times.

I am finding this book to be so practical and well written.I have had a tough year this year, a cancer diagnosis and surgery (good news the cancer was "cured" by the surgery) but there was the recovery and the whole first six months of the year was consumed by health issues. Today is my 64th birthday and by golly, it looks like I am going to keep having birthdays now - so it is time to get off the zero and start making my life better. My weight is a never before conquered problem. I have done the restriction diets of all kinds where you lose a bunch, then are supposed to work your way back up to something "normal" (What is THAT???) and on the way working up, I blew right by "normal" and back to bigger than ever.
I liked what he says about avoiding that whole cycle and just changing what you eat and your lifestyle and take it from there.
I read his entire sleep booklet that is embedded - as I sometimes just lay awake and could never understand why. Now I know - several of the things he mentions about the timing of eating certain things playing a role in sleeplessness - yup...that would be me. Now I can avoid that timing and help myself - if for nothing but that insight alone, this book would be worth its price.
I am still reading it, but I love how it is written, I love the practical way he approaches the matter. When I look at his pix, sadly, I see a male version of myself - so by golly, if he can do it, I can do it. And if this method worked for him, and seems so practical, then I am going to try real hard to make it work for me.

Good book. Helpful information.
This book was very short, but it contained realistic information about starting a low carb diet. The most important think I took from this book is that is is far better to eat at a sustainable low carb level rather than try to stay in an extended induction that just makes you fall off the wagon. I also agree with saving my carbs for evening, that is my danger zone.
I have been on a low carb way of eating for a few months now and this book helps me to understand how to make more educated choices for my meal plans. Knowing the whys and hows of the plan lets you create better menus to boost your weight loss.

This is not a book on low carb! Its a book for insomniacs! One page at the very end gives a day in the life of Low carb. It is his menu for a day.
This was a nice short read with a lot of good information. I especially like the suggestion to start at a sustainable low carb level instead of trying to start on induction only to give up and move on to another diet. He gives the levels suggested for weight loss and maintenance.
I have trouble sleeping through the night and it was a great bonus that he included his sleep book too. The info for better sleep was not the same old things I've read online and tried in the past. He had some different suggestions that I'm going to try.
It was just enough to encourage to get started and try low carb again.
