A MUST read, start with the first book, Rosie Hopkins Sweetshop, then the 2nd book, Christmas at Rosie Hopkins Sweetshop, then this one! It helps to read them in order so you understand the characters and setting. They are all excellent read about sacrifice, commitment, love and hope. They are rolled coaster rides on the realities of life, from jobs, caring for elderly relatives, traditions, relationships and all covered with love....love of family, friends, children, neighbors.... You will laugh, cry, hope and love with all the characters Jenny has so so wonderfully created! I couldn't put the books down for very long as I was drawn back quickly to see what would happen next! The two Christmas books are just simply must reads during the Christmas season! Well done Jenny! I have read several of her books and I think these 3 are her best. Merry Christmas!Product details

Colgan has a way of making the reader part of the story. She develops her characters into fast friends of her fan club. Her main characters are strong, overcoming obstacles and coming out on top. I love Colgan's books.
A bit formulaic but still entertaining. Feel good fiction . . . and what's wrong with that?
Once again, Colgan transports us to this sweet country and its rich culture and charm! Loved the adoption story and the love and drama of family and community!! She does all so well!
I absolutely loved this book. I fell in love with the characters and the little English village of Lipton. This was the third book by Jenny Colgan that I've read and I'm looking forward to reading more.
It was a great read and a lovely story for Christmas, but I love all the books in this series and hope the author will come out soon with the next one. The stories are a mixes of emotional feelings funny and sad. All the characters in that little quirky village are interesting, They could be realistic or not!
I enjoy Jenny Colgan's sweet shop novels when I want a break from the gritty mysteries I read. This one was a great follow up to the first two in this series, and opened the door for a fourth sweet shop book. Her books are easy to read, fast paced and filled with surprises. A lovely, heart warming way to spend leisure time.
This book is a follow up to Rosie Hopkins Sweatshop of Dreams and it would be easier to follow this book if you read them in order. Both books are great fun. Jenny Colgan writes a fun book that has you laughing out loud. Rosie was trained as a nurse but then moved from London to a small town in England to help her aunt with a small sweatshop. Rosie gets in all sorts of problems because she is a city girl living in the country. In the new book she has acclimated to country life and gotten engaged but is trying to have a baby. The book is fun and fresh and a great read.
