This book has it all the basics, the big picture and the tools to get the job done. Far too often the average citizen is turned off by politics and yet still whines about the need for change. This book helps stop the whining and gives you a hands on guide for action. Having lead campaigns for over thirty years, this is a simple and effective book.
THE primer on the strategies and step-by-step methodology of organizing electoral campaigns. You should not take a run at a local office without reading this book and giving it to your campaign manager. Even if you are running right now -- it is not too late to benefit from Shaw's years of successful experience and ability to distill it in such a clear and concise way.
This book is a huge help to those doing a school board, city council, parks commission or other local candidacy or issue based campaign. I have read all of Cathy's books since the first edition of The Campaign Manager and find her strategy to be the best around. As both a candidate for local office and a campaign manager for issue campaigns with little money to spend, I found thtis book to be the best. Use it and WIN.
